An independent full services Film production company
Itasca Films is an independent full services Film production company, part of the Itasca Media Group Ltd, started in 2001 by Malcolm Walker. His vision was to be able to produce films of the highest standards with a group of like-minded individuals who themselves were ambitious dedicated filmmakers. By working together, using all their collective skills they are able to cover all aspects of film making in house.
The Itasca Group includes Itasca Locations, Europe's biggest location library and Itasca Creative, who not only develop websites but can also help with publicity and advertising and public relations. This, along with Extra-People Ltd, our own extras and supporting artists agency gives Itasca Films an advantage when it comes to making its own films.
In addition to undertaking the tasks associated with any independent full services Film production company, i.e. making feature films, programs for TV, music and corporate videos and commercials, we also offer a number of business, production and post production services to other film makers. These include
Services to help to prepare and raise film funding, EIS and SEIS applications to HMRC and preparation of Investor Information Memorandums. Itasca Films have spent many hours unraveling the mysterious world of Investment, Tax Relief and EIS & SEIS. Itasca Films is now sharing their and experience with other filmmakers in their own language, terms and contexts.
Itasca films can uniquely arrange for Film Bond Insurance under £1Mn, thereby facilitating smaller films to cash flow their Film Tax Relief as banks require Film Bond Insurance which normally only starts at £1Mn.

Malcolm Walker started his career in the British film industry over 35 years ago. Throughout his long and varied career Malcolm has worked on some of the biggest movies filmed in Britain, including The Eagle has Landed; The Shining; Star Wars; Alien; The Elephant Man and many others.
Malcolm was one of the UK’s top Location Managers for many years before moving onto directing. As a director he directed drama for both the BBC and ITV and pop videos and commercials.
After many years directing the next natural step was producing. Having now produced both mainstream pop videos and commercials, and having line produced a number of feature films, Malcolm has just finished producing his first feature film ‘Death’ and is now producing a slate of films with Itasca Films.
In 2001 he decided to go back to his passion of feature films and started Itasca Films. As CEO and producer Malcolm is the driving force of Itasca Films.
